James Radin is the personal designer of film maker Nancy Meyers, the creator of Something's Gotta Give. For a Long Island guest cottage designer Kim Coleman hired an artist to paint a nautical chart of Long Island in the style of a blueprint. "In keeping with the theme," she says in an interview with House Beautiful, "the blues of the sofa, chairs, rug, and accessories create an aquatic aura."

I'm working on a post about striped carpets, following up on the "striped rug frenzy" after the movie Something's Gotta Give. I think what you see here are several carpets side by side, great idea by designer Cheryl Tague. Stripes, of course, equal beachy to me!
